Background & Context

Goldman Plumbing Services installed and commissioned the combined hot & chilled water plant skid for the Lobs Hole grout plant on the Snowy 2.0 project, delivering 15 °C process water. Goldman installed the skid-mounted heat-pump/chiller plant, storage tank, pumps, valves and controls on site, and commissioned and balanced the completed system.

The Engineering Challenge

Scope of works included: On-site installation of a skid-mounted combined chiller & heat-pump plant (60 kW unit, 50 kW chilled output); Installation of a 1,000 L duplex stainless storage tank with backup element; Installation of motorised 3-way control valves and custom PLC/HMI control panel; Primary pump, plumbing and electrical connections; Commissioning, balancing and operator training.

Services provided: Mechanical & hydraulic installation; electrical & controls installation; commissioning & balancing; quality (ITP/ITC) documentation; operator training.

Structured Delivery Approach

Key systems and technologies: 60 kW reversible heat-pump & chiller (R290), 50 kW chilled-water output; 1,000 L duplex stainless storage tank; IDEC PLC + HMI control panel; Belimo actuated 3-way valves; Grundfos primary pump; 4G remote monitoring.

Final Handover & Results

A compact, factory-built process-water plant installed and commissioned on site to deliver reliable 15 °C water to a tunnelling grout plant, with full quality sign-off.
