Background & Context

Goldman Plumbing Services installed the centralised solar and natural-gas warm & hot water plant at Thompson Health Care's Woy Woy aged-care home. Goldman installed the condensing gas boilers, solar collectors, storage and pumps and connected the plant for the facility's tempered warm-water service.

The Engineering Challenge

Scope of works included: Installation of three 100 kW condensing gas boilers; Installation of storage heat exchangers; Installation of evacuated solar thermal collectors on pitching frames; Warm / hot return and solar pumps; Pipework and gas / water connections; Control-panel installation.

Services provided: Mechanical & hydraulic installation; gas & water connections; solar collector installation; electrical / controls installation.

Structured Delivery Approach

Key systems and technologies: 3 × 100 kW condensing gas boilers; Warm-water & hot-water storage heat exchangers; evacuated solar thermal collectors; UV disinfection; Grundfos pumps; custom control panel.
