Goldman Plumbing were contracted by NSW Health to undertake a major upgrade of the Medical Compressed Air Generators at Westmead Hospital. This also included the design and construction of a new plant room to accommodate the new equipment.
Goldman Plumbing designed, engineered, project managed and installed the entire system, including the new building. This streamlined the coordination throughout all aspects of the design, build and system installation.
Prior to the system design an extensive audit was conducted to establish the total volume of medical compressed air generation required and to further understand the Hospitals requirements.
Designed by Goldman Plumbing’s Engineers the system consists of:
Four Medical Compressed Air Generators, two generators are water cooled and two air cooled to provide redundancy

An Automated Room Ventilation System
Medical Air Alarm System
Air Filtration Systems
2 x 5000L Air Receivers
A Medical Compressed Air Plant and Mechanical Services Switchboard, comprising of four separate modules each dedicated with supplying selected items of plant and equipment to best ensure reliability.
Building Management System connectivity with high level interface, providing real time monitoring of the medical air system’s operational parameters and performance.
