Goldman Plumbing carried out a major upgrade of the hydrant and fire sprinkler systems at Lion Nathan’s Sydney Brewery.
The new hydrant and sprinkler services were extended from new connections to Sydney Water’s main throughout the facility. Extensive excavations were required to install the new services with Goldman Plumbing backfilling compacting and restoring all excavated areas.
Large sections of services were also surface mounted or hung from existing structures. Goldman Plumbing engineered and manufactured purpose built brackets to support the large fire services in these circumstances.
New Fire Hydrant Booster and Fire Sprinkler Booster Valve assemblies were manufactured and installed at the property boundary as well as multiple fire hydrant landing valves and connections to the existing fire sprinkler systems.
The design called for the service to be fixed to an existing pass over structure to cross one of the Brewery’s internal roads. As this structure was not fire rated it wasn’t certified to be able to support the fire services during a fire event. Goldman Plumbing arranged for and project managed the fireproofing of this structure with an intumescent coating to ensure compliance.
Upon completion of the project the entire system was painted, tested and certified by Goldman Plumbing.
